Old Monk
Tries to mix samples of rock, punk, and pop genres together, creating a musical adventure that ranges from a ska-ish sound to a garage band feel. This album often reminds me of They Might be Giants, but not their good stuff. It’s a fun and often upbeat album that blends the genres, sometimes together, sometimes just within itself.
FCC : Clean
Try: 1, 5, 8, 12, 14
1*** poppy ska-esk, fast and upbeat, fun, ska-light*
2 pop music and vocals, think of "They might be Giants" didn’t try hard
3 upbeat catchy tune, poppy vocals drowned out by a strong background
4 rolling vocal melody, guitar and drum background
5** Upbeat ska / punk beats with intermingled breaks*
6 Guitar and drum intro, solid sounding light punk rock fading into pop
7 Nice drum into with guitar, poppy-punk feel, mostly instrumental breaks
8* [instrumental] light fluffy intro builds to mild guitar riffs*
9 Solid rock start with guitar and vocals, pop-rock beats, general modern-alternative feel
10 guitar then building drums, light vocals
11 soft vocals, almost a lullaby feel, builds into a garage band sound with great guitar riffs
12* fun alternative beats with a strong intro and classic rock feel*
13 rock poem with a short rock rift at the end
14* Vocal pop, garage feel, light but gritty fun melody*
15 They might be Giants -esk with a mix of ska, upbeat and a little garage sounding
