CD Blues Mix: Soul Blues Party-Volume 4 Ecko Records #997904
Normally compilations tend to be uninspired and have 2 hot songs with a bunch of mediocre fillers. Ecko Record continues to release hot Southern Soul/Blues compilations with an impressive array of musicians. This CD is full of Southern Soul and Blues hits! Can't go wrong with this one!
1. Ms Jody's Thang (Zydeco Remix) Ms Jody attempts Zydeco (Vocals Good, but Need work)
2. You Bring The Best In Me Sheba Potts-Wright delivers a hot Southern Soul Jam! Solid vocals, tight horns, Party Time!!!
3. If We Ain't Gonna Break Up Luther Lackey is a master of blues storytelling with his unique gospel flavored style!
4. It's Byob Donnie Ray puts it down with a Southern Soul party song! Upbeat club song, good to play on the way from work.
5. Bang That Thang Hot previously un-released Southern Soul dance tune by Sonny Mack. Tight horn section, catchy, fun, but suggestive lyrics.
6. Let's Dance Upbeat Southern Soul Song, rhythm section is strong & O.B. Buchanna has strong vocals that makes this tune a hot, fun party song.
7. Dance Party Classic swing out song by the late great Quinn Golden. This song is smooth, great for evening & late night play!
