Favorite track: 1
Vocals heading even towards bjork/joanna newsom at times. Entire last
half is a bit same-y mid-to-down tempo
FCC: track 8!!
Closer: lots of fun.
Life of Pi: some cool vocal stylings, hooting and howling as nifty
instrumental augmentation. Glockenspiel makes a brief appearance. Gets
seriously weird at 2:23 for a few measures but all in the name of good
fun.
Cadiz: bongos; mellow up-beat
I like it too: slow
Cinematic: Attempt at urban (?), funkier beat, orchestral picks up
around one minute mark, some pretty vocals but uneven overall
Doggy: organs and spoken word moody dark intro
Life in a Northern Town: mid-tempo, undistinguished.
Starfucker: FCC warning! bouncy, engaging.
Shlamiel: return to the dissonant urban/bluesier of cinematic, to me
quite off-putting despite some nice jazzy horn.
I like it too: nondescript mid-tempo
House of Many Colors: interesting interplay between vocalal and
musical effects towards the end
Multiply: also rather down-tempo and almost moog-ish at times.
So Low: imagine chariots of fire slowed down and stripped down with
tinkley bells added in.
A Hope: brief tinkly instrumental no vocals
