The Moor / “The Moor” / Dilettante

Very catchy album! Female vocalist, poppy and at least mid-tempo, but often big nice dark chords. Voice not too distinctive (mid-range), but the fun is in the songwriting. Poppy, dancy, though not really “happy”. All tracks great for radio. Very impressive, strange that they don’t have more out (they formed in 2008).
No FCCs detected.

1. *3:53 Great minor chord to start, nice midtempo, dark-yet-upbeat, catchy!
2. *2:51 Echoey piano, midtempo, makes you want to dance/sing along. Great!
3. *3:01 Mostly just spooky piano with echoey vocals, builds a bit with background synths. Eerie and nice, vocals match sound very well.
4. 3:04 Nice rolling indie rock song, guitars, drums, a bit more standard than the others.
5. 4:41 Steady layered instruments (mid-uptempo), slight 60s-style girl group vocals (echoey but strong).
6. *3:22 Downtempo, gorgeous eeriness (ambient “aahs” and synths layered nicely), but still hip-swaying feel to it with good use of light but super effective percussion.
7. 2:23 Very bouncy upbeat! Keyboards, clean electric guitar, synths – very fun.
8. *3:38 Layered vocals/harmonies, over strummed electric guitar. Slow beat + synth organ comes in, giving it a Pink Floyd meets Doors feel. Cool. Cool cool cool.
