So, I’ll keep the patriotic, Danish plugs at a minimum for now, but this pop starlet makes some solid, quirky pop. Think a mix of Lykke Li, La Roux, and the softer side of The Knife. This will not mess up your serious indie rock show too much if you’re feeling happy and the weather is nice. This is a surprisingly varied affair with experiments in (almost) dubstep, happy tribal pop, and some artsy girl-power stuff. A little bit uneven, but a fun ride nevertheless.
FCC: Clean Try: 5, 7, 9, 11
1) 4:58 Slow, lo-fi drums. Quirky vocals and cute, innocent strings. Mysterious and longing, segways into weird electronic outro.
2) 3:17 The Knife-like. Vibraphone? Dramatic vocals, a little empty
3) 3:25 * Interesting sampled vocals as backdrop. Lots of drive, tight production. I like it.
4) 2:51 Somewhat 90s in the tacky electro way. Blippy and chaotic.
5) 3:28 * Dark, slow with organic electronic underpinnings. A 2011 take on classic heartbreak ballad.
6) 4:37 * A slow dubstep lullaby. No kidding. Lots of mood and texture. Might be a little too melodramatic for some.
7) 4:07 Straightforward drumpad intro goes all rocky and glam. Then continues down the Swedish, upbeat path.
8) 3:46 Tribal and sunny. Lots of bounce and happy times.
9) 3:31 * Cute melody. Has some drum’n’bass-ish percussion, but if that doesn’t bother you, this is very easy to like.
10) 2:32 Pianos and happy-go-lucky vocals. No worries, very Lykke Li-like
11) 3:20 * Slow. Simple vibraphone patters and keys. Play this late at night
