Beady Eye is the collective remains of Oasis following Noel Gallagher’s departure. There are some quality britpop tracks among forgettable ones. I recommend tracks 1-3. FCC: 6.
1. *Four Letter Word: A pissed off song, must be to Noel Gallagher. Classic britpop sound with a harder edge. (4:16)
2. *Millionaire: midtempo, catchy pop single with a slide guitar hook. (3:21)
3. *The Roller: Minor key, midtempo head-swaying goodness. (3:35)
4. Beatles and Stones: Uptempo send-up to early British Invasion sound. Complete with a short old-tymey piano solo. (2:57)
5. Wind Up Dream. The kind of song you feel like you’ve heard too many times before. (3:29)
6. Bring the Light: FCC “fucking” British Jerry Lee Lewis. (3:40)
7. For Anyone: Syrupy, syrupy acoustic track. (2:16)
8. Kill For a Dream: Directionless midtempo. (4:40)
9. Standing on the Edge of the Noise: Lo-fi vocals and upbeat guitar fuzz. (2:53)
10. Wigwam: Sha la la la la la. Also, the last three minutes repeats “Coming coming coming up”. Kind of a less inspired “Hey Jude” (6:39).
11. Three Ring Circus: Midtempo. Not the worst way to spend three minutes, but you might not remember the song after it happens. (3:09)
12. The Beat Goes On: Not to be confused with the Sonny and Cher song. Sentimental, perhaps cloying. (4:46)
13. The Morning Son: Mellow, echoey acoustic song. Another one about Noel. Builds around 2.5 minutes.
