Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon is an unusual musician.
She cut her teeth in business & finance, & made a name for
herself in that field before switching to music. This is her debut
album.
This is an unusual album. Chandrika uses an ancient
Hindu chant/mantra with 8 syllables & sings them in
8 different ragas of Indian classical music. Surprisingly,
she manges to pull off each track in new, modern &
interesting ways.

1. Soul stirring invocation that starts slow & picks
up steam.
2. A beautiful number.
3. Starts with a quiet & grave mantra & then
settles into a soothing chant.
4. Starts wtih an ancient mantra & then renders
the familiar chant in a different raga.
5. There is a nice rythmic & hypnotic edge
to this mantra.
6. Slow build up. Only track with a chorus.
7. Listen to the flute in the opening piece when Chandkrika
recites the mantra. This is more of a traditional sounding track.
8. Slow start & then at 2.30 Middle Eastern influences
music kicks in & the result is an interesting hyrbid. There is
a trance like quality to this piece.
9. Peppy & upbeat, with Middle Eastern sounding percussion.
Lovely fusion of Indian classical & Middle Eastern sounds.
