Whiny punky emo stoner garage. Adolescent-minded, guitar-centric, angsty and loud. Slightly heavy, slightly mathy. Sounds like a very fuzzy Superchunk... covering "Sixteen Stone". Okay, or a Weezer demo. Or: The 90s. Or: Flannel. Hint: The 7ish minute cuts are stoner rock. The shorter ones are alternative/indie.
try: 5, 4, 7, 3
no FCCs
1. very gradual noisy fade in. at :30, starts in with soft repeated hi-reg electric note (which vamps throughout the track, and becomes... annoying). rockin emo-tinged riffage. oh, this sounds like classic weezer.
2. speedy cymbal-heavy drums and strum action. zoomy electric riff. lo-fi punky.
*3. some background noise/voices to start. minor, downbeat electric. echoey shins-like vox. standard loud/angular garage chorus, with vu-styled verses.
*4. minimalist jazzy bass-rooted groove. doorsy vamped "my baby's got a fever". hi-reg electric soloing. swells and gets loud = mathy jam.
*5. slighly poppy/pleasant descending airy lilt. beachy alt indie vox horrifyingly reminiscent of "i'm not sick but i'm not well".
6. rapid zoomy poppy electric riff over cymbal-heavy kit (cough collective soul). layered multiple-vox chorus. the title is the lone lyric.
*7. steady kit. swirly ambient washy piano and clear voiced electric. i can actually hear some KOD in here. gets electric and noisy. horns! moves into sloowww shimmery plod ~2min to end. can fade out whenever.
8. slow stoner plod moves into insidious synthy bass and lots of effectsy noodling. slightly folky melody... except it's yelled.
9. easy acoustic strum. simple melody. bursts into a cute indie rock (cough moody blues) singalong. long fade out.
