Canada’s long running & one of the earliest hardcore/punk band’s still at it and doing it pretty well. They’re getting to the point of being the Motorhead of hardcore – this SOUNDS like a lot of the other D.O.A. albums of recent years but it’s more rock n’ roll and a lot less punk. (They used to do the other way ‘round. I mean, they started in 1977!) Addable for the 3-4 good moments.
(((((1))))) Fast n’ wailing hardcore. Title explains everything.
(((2))) Uptempo, sorta Clash-like 70’s rocker.
((3)) Fast & melodic, their heart’s in the right place but the redundant/poppy parts come off more like Fat Records generic than D.O.A.
(((4))) Pretty good, straight ahead rocker with a good story to tell.
(((5))) Lots of call & response vocals, sort of Sex Pistols (!?) style ‘ala “God Save the Queen” or “EMI” probably intentional
((6)) Topical but boring rock with a hint or two of punk.
((7)) More mid-tempo rock stuff. Nothing horrible or awesome- just there.
(8) Highly Unnecessary Dylan cover.
((9)) Slow radio rock tune that gets somewhat faster. Was hoping for fast-ass “Trekkie punk” but quite.
(((10))) Fast-ish anthemic punk.
(11) Weird cover choice, but why? ‘Cause it’s not that interesting or even fun.
(((12))) Pretty good slide guitars, straight rock with some good lyrics and OK vocals.
((13)) Again their hearts are in the right place but these kinda “rah-rah”rock songs are just clumsy & awkward.
(14) Strummy country-rock. Total throwaway track.
