Anna Laube, Pool All The Love - Pool All The Knowledge, 2009 Reviewed by Abu Ramses FCC CLEAN Second album of singer-songwriter Anna (pronounced Lau-be). She plays acoustic guitar, harmonica, alto sax, and banjo with low-key electric and bass backup. Country sound on a road trip. Many California themed songs, laced with nostalgia for the 1967 “Summer of Love” in Haight-Ashbury. Easy listening, but IMHO, overly simple and light. Tracks 1, 3, 8, 11: relatively more upbeat. Others are sad ballads. Track 6: a country-hippie-Buddhist mix. Tracks (all have acoustic guitar, other featured instruments noted) 1-This Moment with Me – harmonica, drums 2-I Found Love - the most upbeat on the album, drums 3-Hippie Boyfriend – harmonica, drums. Signature piece of the CD 4-California King – accordion, keyboard 5-Kihei Blues - harmonica 6-Om Namah Shivaya (Ulysses) – loons (yes, birds) 7-I Left My Heart in San Francisco - harmonica 8-More than Friends - harmonica 9-Sweet Mornin' Love – harmonica, drums 10-Blue Angel – alto sax, electric 11-I Just Had to Say - banjo | ||
