Art rock avante prog in the vein of Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, Zappa, Henry Cow, Soft Machine, Gentle Giant. All tracks are a venture, you never know where things will lead. They might start off mellow but then get heavy on the turn of a dime, then back again. But they all have great proggy guitar, drums and a plethora of other instruments (reeds, brass, samples) joining the fray, downtown jazz complexity. In one word: excellent prog.
1) starts off epic prog, heavy, then courses into a mellower feel and then into a pure art prog deal
2) swingy jazzy prog, trumpet, cool cat stuff
3) trippy synth and cymbal opens this slower mindful piece, clarinet quirkiness
4) strange samples lead into an intense driving feel that gives way here and there into quirky interludes
5) starts mellow and trippy with fender Rhodes and other percussive synth tones, longish track kinda gets slow heavy rockin in places, very Birdsongs’ish, cool sax
6) guitar takes the lead on this one, soaring and pretty, for fans of McLaughlin, DiMeola, gets mellow in breaks, complex
7) guitar driven again, good prog!
