Upbeat post-punk with lots of electro noises and beats. Strong, very British female vocals like the Slits but more trained. A lot of shorter songs with no repetition, like Wire's Pink Flag. Even in the poppier songs, there's usually nice experimentation in sounds. Nothing bad here. FCC - 5, 10?
*1. Driving beat, dissonance in guitar similar to Add N to (X). A couple of lighter tropical sounding parts like Abe Vigoda. (2:50)
2. Liliput with weird Deerhoof guitar. (1:20)
3. Yiddish punk? with a nice trumpet sample... Short but fun. (0:53)
*4. Electro intro, then a whimsical little strummy acoustic song with old-ladies-singing-sharp vocals, still some electronic beats. (2:21)
5. Squeaky sounds, guitar. FCC: fucking (twice). (2:27)
**6. Sort of dancy, upbeat pop. Light vocals that are spiced with just the right amount of cheeky attitude. Lots of fun. (2:44)
7. More pop...bouncy with strange hip-hop breakdowns. (1:55)
8. Another light acoustic number with occasional electronic beats. (1:23)
*9. Acoustic/dancy, beats are noisier. Funny lyrics. Jumps around genres like a lo-fi Mr. Bungle. (2:46)
10. Straightforward pop-rock - light and upbeat, but with alternating heavier portions. Is 'piss' an FCC? It's not that obvious anyway. (3:09)
11. Disjointed and sparse pop, centered on the vocals. Ends with percussion. (3:34)
12. Calm but noisy electro pop. (2:57)
13. Lazy dissonant acoustic, becomes distorted and builds slowly. Ends with about 21:37 left. Another pop song starts at 1:31 remaining - like number 7. (24:25)
