Epic, shoegazy, post-rock. Two kinds of songs here: short, atmospheric, ethereal pieces with lots of effects (1,3,6,8) and long epic affairs with multiple crescendos and a lot of Hawkwind style guitar feedback and pedaling (2,4,5,9). All tracks are instrumental, except 7 that has hip-hop vocals. I liked the longer tracks more, but the short ones should make a good soundbed. These guys don't break any new ground, but the CD is quite good overall. For fans of: Red Sparowes, Russian Circles, Pelican, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky
Picks: 2,4,5,6,9 *** No FCCs ***
1. some static at intro, then spacey ethereal ambient track, bleed into next one
*2. long track, melodramatic feeling, starts slow, drums kick in @0:40, beautiful guitars, full blown crescendo @4:13, heavy, noisy
3. slow, dreamy, ethereal, uplifting... pure bliss!
*4. another long one, upbeat, nice drumming, builds up and slows down a couple of times and then full peak @6:55, very good, ENDS @-0:08
*5. long track, slow, mellow start, lots of echo, peak @4:00,
*6. this is different, is this a synth sound? marimba? kind of menacing sounding, good soundbed for a horror story, mini crescendo @3:00
7. what? hip-hop vocals? is this a brit singing? lyrics are political, but i am not sure i like it...
8. atmospheric, ethereal, looped vocal samples, bleeds into next track
*9. long track, kind of like 2, menacing tone, crescendo @2:23, another one @5:43
