Great mix of instrumental prog, jazz fusion, post-rock and soundtrack-like “mood music”. A very good wide range of sounds, tones and environments. Possibly the most mellow thing Neurot has put out but this is a sign of strength.
(((((1)))))) Slow and long, dramatic build up, does a great job of setting mood with elongated, high-pitched violin and eventually acoustic guitar.
(((((2)))))) Loose, 70’s jazz fusion influenced (think Mahavishnu Orchestra, electric-era Miles Davis), lots of stop/starts and “more complex than you think” time changes. Later on gets nice & dreamy.
((((3)))) “Ping! gong! Woooosh!” then feels like a modern ambient version of a Chet Baker tune.
((((4)))) More pinging & gonging, slow, slightly jazzy piano and drums, with clanging cymbals and random bits of female vocals. Generally chaotic & disjointed.
(((((5)))) Strummy, post-rock with Middle Eastern vibe
((((((6))))) Slow, dark and creeping, piano and harmonium (?), and random mutterings of wicked beasts. Perfect horror movie soundtrack! The second half is mid-tempo, Fender Rhodes-based jazz-fusion & prog. --- Ragnar of Ravensfjord
