Very heavy, local (Millbrae) band mixing the heaviest sides of NYC hardcore, metal and (sometimes) grind. A.o.S. features Pete from Benümb and Jeff and John from Vulgar Pigeons. Pete’s voice reminds me of a modern version of Negative Approach’s John Brannon. Overall really intense and charged.
((((1))))) Tight & thick intro.
((((((2))))) Battering, super-heavy hardcore with a few blasts of grind.
((((3)))) Classic metal riffing, “Clease-me-of this filth!”, more techy with lots of tricky stop/stars.
(((((4))))) Fast & raging, slamming beats, big riffy breakdowns.
((((5)))) Confrontational, heavy-as-brick hardcore. Succeeds where many have failed.
((((((6))))) Heavy, techy interplay between drums and guitars then raging, straight up metallic hardcore (not “metalcore”) with a doomy breakdown near the end.
(((7))) Mid-paced, modern metal build up, spoken section. An “intermission” track.
(((((((8))))))) Whoa! Slayer crossed with the Accüsed? Rippin’ fast, modern crossver without the super obvious thrash parts.
((((((9)))))) Swedish death metal infused, rabid mosh-grind!? Goes right for the jugular.
((((10)))) Speedy and out of control, pretty rippin’ blast beats.
(((11))) Good, fast and blazing – but they already did this one in #6
((((12)))) Slow bass & drums intro, “anticipatory” feeling then dense, riffy heavy as hell but melodic metal with gang choruses.
((((((13)))))) Pummelling fast, hard hitting drums. Killer mix of hardcore rage and the crushing power of metal.
