Jazz pianist Corea & bluegrass/jazz banjo player Fleck have previously guested on the other’s CDs, but here they record together. It’s just them on mostly original tunes, combining stellar solos with often blistering duets. While a bass/drums might have been nice, it’s hard to fault this release that’s full of improvisational verve and serious technique.

*1. Tripping yet lyrical midtempo track w/bright flashes.
2. Mid/upbeat melding of jazz & bluegrass. Nice interplays.
*3. Mostly mid and meandering, strictly on the jazz side.
*4. This one is on the bluegrass side. Mid/up, bright, bouncy.
5. Playful w/some fast fingering from both. It falls over itself.
6. Starts like an Italian folk song then lots of piano. Varying tempos.
*7. Mid/uptempo, insistent in/a quirky jazz excursion.
8. A rather sweet jazz waltz that isn’t always a waltz.
9. Sweet midtempo version of a chestnut.
10. Relaxed and melodic w/a dreamy quality.
*11. Midtempo w/an almost tango-like sound. Nicely done.
