Experimental loose outfit from Midwest, drones and sample plundering, old school use of effects and moments of free-jazz too. Crazy stuff, affiliated with Chicago’s Hair Police (Metalux et al.). For fans of all things noisey and layered, but also for fans of free-jazz and narcotic hypnosis of My Bloody Valentine/Kevin Shields in a daydream.
FCC clean, my picks: 1, 4
1) a ragged loop of vocs evolves/gives way to lovely narcotic synth drone, after 6+ minutes this turns into loops of low-fi violin/string samples and some vague pounding, but after another minute or so the drone joins back in
2) “creepy” cinematic monster-marching-in-chains feel, then a buried dark unintelligible voice appears, very creepy deepy, noisier with old analog delay effects and feedback
3) minimal percussion, live feel, after a few minutes a voicelike electronic tone bounces all over the stereo field, really cool and hypnotizing if not maddening
4) lovely noise-drone, My Bloody Valentine’ish almost in its lush aural overtones, after 9 min the drone falls away to some freaky samples, treatments, minimal
5) low-fi recording of live performance, starts sounding free-jazz with strings, drums, then turns electronic noise-drone
