Symeonn, Rob – The Chosen One

Roots rock and VERY Rasta Reggae. Well made, classic sound, not too slick and not too stoned. He must be cool, cause he uses the Chicken Boy motto: It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice.
No FCCs (as if!) – best tracks IMO are 7, 11 and 12.
1. 0:39 wave sounds, somewhat uptempo nyahbinghi with prayer
2. 3:48 *long intro, uptempo roots rock bubble.
3. 3:52 **dubby midtempo skank, very Rasta. Nice melodica.
4. 3:28 *midtempo roots with pretty female chorus, theme lifted from a kids’ church song. Rasta preaching.
5. 3:52 **slightly uptempo skank with cool sax.
6. 3:44 *midtempo skank with a bit of toasting. Nice combination of voices.
7. 3:25 ***midtempo tough skank with nicely looned out dancehall toast by Junior Kelly, Rasta message.
8. 3:47 *midtempo, classic roots stand, nice vocal harmonies
9. 0:39 waves and nyahbinghi fire and brimstone
10. 3:47 *slow folksy bubble with hints of slide guitar, lots of vocal harmonies.
11. 4:04 ***midtempo bubble, nice combination of male vocals.
12. 5:26 ***jaunty upbeat roots skank, fun music, very serious lyrics. Crazy combination!
13. 3:31 *somewhat uptempo bubble, female chorus.
14. 4:12 *downtempo acoustic nyahbinghi-inflected Rasta message, no drums.
15. 3:28 **uptempo rock steady bubble. Some dancehall toasting.
16. 3:58 *VERY slow, sweetened nyahbinghi version of track 6. Odd noises.
17. 3:53 **midtempo skank, instrumental version of track 5, solo mellow sax.
