Album Review
Captain Dee

My favorite indie album of 2006! Sophomore release from Berlin-based singer Julia Guther and her crew. Guther sings in an understated, matter-of-fact style that resonates a certain genuineness. The vibe is carefree, but there’s definitely a melancholic emotional depth that underlies each song. Think Stereolab meets the Breeders. Excellent music for a lazy Saturday afternoon. Nothing revolutionary here, but this is very listenable, down-to-earth indie pop, executed to perfection. Love it! Highly Recommended.

11. Subdued, pensive. Touches of harmonica. (3:22)
