Forget the old “Swiss Miss” ad, yodeling is far more versatile and worldly than you might think. Here, musicians from Hawaii to Cameroon curl their throats around everything from traditional folk songs to techno yodeling. Varied, fun, and silly. No favorites – surprisingly, I liked it all.
1. Sing-along yodel lesson with children. Much giggling.
2. Fun, upbeat, Texas yodel ode. Toe-tapping silly, bluegrassy.
3. Wacky. Traditional Swiss yodel meets avante garde oddness.
4. Traditional folk yodel a capella, relaxed, rather sweet. Thunder?
5. Cool, rather dark midtempo blend of yodeling & programming.
6. Upbeat yodel dub.
7. Upbeat Hawaiian cowboy song w/slack key & vox. Starts slow.
8. Upbeat Mexican son huasteco w/falsetto & great strings.
9. Fast, fun, western-style Bollywood yodel. Old, cracky recording.
10. Soaring fem vox, a capella w/fem chorus. Mysteriously cool.
11. Tripping yodel w/bouncy cowboy band.
