THE SCATTERED PAGES – “This is Where the Story Ends” CD (Three ring)
Texas acoustic trio who play old-time-music influenced pop. Most song are slow/patient, acoustic, sometimes with lap steel guitar and vocals that are deep and full in a RICHARD BUCKNER way. There is some string (cello and violin) orchestration and some tracks that don’t have much of a country sound and are acoustic pop. Think BELLE AND SEBASTAIN. VETIVER, NINA NASTASIA
1. Nice slow patient track with a booming voice and prominent bass line and a slide guitar.
2. Reminds me a good bit RICHARD BUCKNER. Acoustic guitar strumming, banjo in the background, acoustic bass and maybe a second guitar.
3. Slow, sad song that starts with a big cry of “Sad and alone” and the tracks is even called “Sad Country Song”. More slide guitar. Reminds me of a track form NINA NASTASIA.
4. Dramatic chorus. Fairly standard and not that different from tracks 2 & 3.
5. Less country and darker. Brushed drums and slow acoustic guitar until they pick up the pace, and it sounds like a gypsy band rocking out.
6. Simple strum, simple story, slow pace, eh.
7. Pop with lots of organ.
OK stuff -mph
