The Bawd Of Euphony

This is probably one of my favorite records of the year thus far. Inspired by their move from New York to Berlin Drums Not Dead finds the ever experimenting Liars again shifting gears to create a unique masterpiece. Monochromatic vocals, electro rhythms coupled with tribal drum madness and freaky guitars make for craziness, beauty and intensity. This is a non-concept album where many tracks flow seamlessly. Dynamics go from minimal drones to full on drumming frenzies. Overall the feel is dark with occasional euphoria floating in. There is a clear duelality in place between the softer and heavier pieces. This is a bizarre & unique beast that gets better and better better. PLAY-tHE bAWD oF euphony
** (3:29) Dissonant, treated guitar with steady pounding drums and vocals. Great intro
** (4:31) Enter tribal/electro madness. Haunting vocals. Creepy!
** (4:19) Breaks down, clicking and steady tribal drums with melodic guitar. Sweet!
** (4:14) More euphoric, Liars in Heaven! Fucking weird vocals, FREAKS!
** (4:02) Funny and creepy, typwriter rhythm, monochrome vox. Love it!
** (4:00) Swimming pools sounds, slow meandering bass. GREAT GREAT GREAT!
** (4:42) Looped vocals, Early Sonic Youth, awesome and spooky.
** (3:09) Low electronics, minimal instrumental
** (4:55) Effected drums. Stark. Feedback. Chaotic. And rockin.
** (1:15) Noise and acoustics. Bizzare
** (4:04) electronics grow and build into an pulse. Really creepy and cool!
** (4:43) Ringing out guitar, euphoric vocals, kinda pretty? Velvet Underground?
