Album Review
Reviewed 2005-11-02
Solid collection of African artists in a variety of styles. Mostly well-known artists (Baaba Maal, Oumou Sangare,, Cesaria Evora, Ray Lema, King Sunny Ade, etc.) but a few you might not be familiar with. Love it, love it, love it. One star each track. Close your eyes and hit play, whatever you choose will be worth it.

1. Relaxed, midtempo reggae-infused jam. Horns/vox/perc.
2. Great midtempo Juju funk groove.
3. Cool percussion, mid. Flute, vox. A sexy, catchy dance.
4. Classic Congolese dance track. Midtempo & so, so cool.
5. Groovy Senegalese R&B mid/uptempo, great vocals.
6. Big ol’ midtempo Afro-Funk goodness.
7. Spoken word into a relaxed soukous track. Great vocals.
8. Nicely hip dance track. Mid/uptempo, catchy.
9. So cool. Great vocals, uptempo & swinging.
10. Horns, perc, lots of strings vox. Lush mid/up w/touch of Latin.
11. Great fem. Vox. Uptempo beats, a sweet, happy sound.
12. Warm, bright blend of vox/keyboards/perc. Lively & smooth.
