Guitar with a lot of vibrato and tremolo. Lyrics in booklet. This guys has lots of experience, fronted Clawhammer, played with the Workdogs, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Red Aunts, etc… this is a bunch of quirky, bitter, home studio work.
1.brief track free-form noise- warbly guitar sounds
+2.horns, just slightly off, joined by flutes. arty fun. Brief
3.FCC some “shit”s, decent bluesy, maniac laughter, carnie
4.sounds like a bad morning. Coffeehouse bongo perc.
+5.Residents cover, takes a while to recognize,gentler,swampy.
6.FCC 2 swears, see lyrics, pretty & down-homey
+7.country, bitter about music sucking
++8. pretty fem vox “ahhs” intro, then rock, Lennonesque
+9.swing/rockabilly version of a classic love song. “novelty”
10.minimal 3/4 guitar strumming and off-kilter singing
11.sad, minor key, Nick Cave lite. Nice sax in the middle.
