Swedish death metal band redoing an album from 2001. They're not doing anything new here just adding some polish to the production while crapping out what was an already solid drum sound on the original. In fact, the original very much pales in comparsion to this. It’s a no brainer death metal album that fails to break beyond “pretty good”.
((((1))))) GREAT Intro that beckons Chu Isakawa’s “Tetsou: The Iron Man” main theme.
(((2))) Charging tempos, modern death/thrash with solid riffs but still sounds stale in places. Unneccesary keyboard parts, too much cymbal pinging & a note or 5 added on top of the original.
((((3)))) Barrage of drums, machine gun fire thrash, Slayer & Megadeth-ims abound. All of which do the job except for the psuedo-industrial part.
FCC -1:57 & -0:33 “no fucking afterlife”.
((4)) More drum blasts & melodic noodling/strumming this one works alright but the chorus drags on too long.
FCC “I don’t give a fuck”-3:04 & -0:16
((5)) Synth intro and slow riff then jud-jud city and bonus points for the Lemmy-like “Alright!” Well-done melodic death metal but once again it drags on too long. Cut your songs in 1/2!
(6) Surfy noodling then modern thrash, pit-patter shitty drum sound and some ok riffing and cowbell (!?). What’s with the melodic chorus parts? Nix this!
(7) Jud-jud running through more thrash motions. Reptitive as a “Nick At Nite” marathon.
((8)) More thrash-death/death-thrash barrage with a little bit more interesting riffing (‘bout time!) but again this dulls with it’s repetition & insistence on being directionless aggression.
((9)) Fast but with a little ‘groove’ thing then mid-tempo with stop-starts that come out of nowhere. Kinda pointless but with an interesting tip to At The Gates in the line “death your release”. FCC “fucking” -2:25 & -1:15-1:14) Starts to sound like Top 40 death metal. Ugh!
(((10))) Pick slides, jud-jud then thrash and Johan’s “e-yah” (kinda like Tom G. Warrior’s “Oüh! but legendary this is not). Decent death/thrash with some weird stoner rock by way of Guns n’ Roses thing at: -2:20-1:53 & in the last 40 secs..
((((11)))) Early 90’s early groove/death and hey...guess what this is the best damn song on this album! OTT death/thrash circa early 90’s. Kill the excessive cymbals
