A collection of decent, pleasant, straightforward songs. Most tracks feature prominent male vocals (with occasional supporting harmony) along with piano and/or acoustic guitar. Electric guitar and drums as well. A variety of changing flavors include a Tom Waits sound on a number of tracks, Dylan, Knopfler, etc.
For quiet, simple songs: 10/9 – 3/4 are similar but w/ electric guitar
More energetic, rock feel: 6/7

FCC Clean
1. (4:57) – Very simple ballad about a college-aged arsonist. Starts with piano (only instrument in the song). Slightly raspy vocals that hint at early Waits.
2. (4:26) – Down-tempo love song with steady drums; electric guitar has prominent part.
3. * (4:14) – Down-tempo, simple piano melody, distorted guitar in the distance. Nice lyrics and vocal harmonies.
4. * (5:25) – Pretty, very down-tempo ballad with acoustic and electric guitars, strings later. Has a slight western feel, also Knopfler when strings and guitar play together.
5. (5:41) – Dylan-sounding intro (Nashville Skyline). Simple drums with acoustic guitar and strings (prominent towards end. Vocals have the Waitsian feel again.
6. * (4:18) – More up-tempo than other tracks with urgent acoustic guitar and emotional vocals – nice.
7. * (4:09) – Mid-tempo. Rock feel because of bass and intro. Guitars are simple strumming, frequent vocal harmonies. Nice 1-min instrumental outro.
8. (0:51) Short banjo instrumental, not bad.
9. * (3:48) - A pretty piece. Down-tempo again, immediate vocals, which are predominant throughout (fortunately they’re solid solo vocals w/ some good lyrics). Simple acoustic guitar provides music.
10. * (3:34) - Also a simple, pretty down-tempo song. Sounds very much like something off of Waits’ Closing Time. Varies later on with a Mexican guitar sound.
11. (5:29) - Mid-tempo, subdued rock-feel. Some good lyrics. A good song, but doesn’t stand out too much from the rest of the album.
12. (3:48) – Down-tempo but an upbeat rock feel through the restrained energy in the guitar and vocals. Interesting last track in that it builds up expectancy – final chords provide some release.
