This is a bizarre mix of songs, instrumentals, announcements, commercials, morphed together to make tracks. To a certain extent it gives a feel of what was being broadcasted on air in India between the period 1989 – 1996. It is obvious to the listener the range of music spanning the whole country, from Bengal in the east to Rajasthan in the west and Delhi in the north to Hyderabad in the south. Very eclectic !

But, it is just that, a good collage. Some pieces, which you like, get over too quickly. There are abrupt changes. You anticipate a popular song but it never comes. After a while the novelty wears off.

All said and done, some of the tracks are very interesting and worth a listen. Most of the CD 2 tracks are fun. My recommendations are:
CD #1
3. Radio Varanasi – A ghazal, a classical and a bhajan.

CD #2
1, 2, 5, 6 (begins with the very truly Indian radio music), 8.
