Vernon Reid and Masque – Known Unknown

Living Colour frontman Vernon Reid continues his metal funk explorations. Not so much metal weirdness on this disc as there has been on previous albums, this is all about stretching out over the groove. Think Steve Vai sitting in with Charlie Hunter.

*1. Epic funky rock, nice solos
*2. Catchy hook with shredding solos
3. Speedy rockin version of Monk tune
4. Slow composition, vaguely Zappa-like but a bit cheesy
5. Waves of sound alternates with jazzy swing
*6. Speedy drum & bass style space funk
7. Double time version of this chestnut
*8. Laid back funk
9. Bluesy ballad
10. Spacey slow jam
11. Strange short intro
*12. Happy electronic jam funk
