The Atlantics -- Point Zero
Surf from Australia -- classic group for the 60s, now they're old balding dudes but they still rock -- Driving, pounding drums, lots of eerie twisting reverb, and echoes of morricone-esque western themes. Some of the songs lean toward over-produced cheesiness but the good tracks (#1, 2, 8, 11) are pure surf-rock
PICS: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 11
1. great guitar line, driving drum beat
2. pounding drum solo at beginning, then bass line, lots of guitar effects, good
3. basic rock beat, less interesting guitar
4. surfy western theme
5. goofy, playful guitar
6. more driving drums+guitar, good reverb
7. slower, meditative, heavy bass line, sound effects that sound like waves crashing, good
8. fast drum beat, morricone-esque western theme
9. blues theme, guitar with heavy reverb
10. midtempo, sly spy theme
11. galloping drums, good
12. hawaii 5-0 -- surf standard --
13. rock beat, 60s French pop melody
14. slow, somewhat cheesy, reminds me of the music that plays during the credits of a movie such as "top gun"
