This band kicks ass!! Part of the same genre as Subtonix, Phantom Limbs, The Vanishing. Dark yet upbeat spooky stuff out of Memphis. Chorused female vocals switch off with male vocs, lots of scary synth, scathing guitars, driving beats that smack of pogo’ish new wave but noooooo, no way Mollie Ringwwald would be found around this. The music is searing dark and evil and weird, with female scream vocals that singe your hair better than any black metalist could. Yet Souisie Sioux comes to mind in all of this. Great band, great band live too. This is a comp of 7”s and demos over the years. All EXCELLENT.
1) brief mechanical noise intro
2) triplet driving, maxes out quick, fasten your seat belt
3) upbeat poppy like Joy Division pop, dark and evil
4) male vocs, upbeat, a tad angsty
5) upbeat driving
6) rocking, low-fi male vocs, cool noises
7) synth noise, drum hits, brief
8) upbeat, righteous
9) marching snare, male prose about “being normal”, brief but intros into next track…
10) mid paced minor, conformity theme
11) fem vocs return, almost poppy
12) reverb bass solo
13) thrashy punky, male vocs
14) near new wave pop
15) instrumental piano ditty, triplet rhythm
16) mid paced, male vocs
17) fem vocs, pop almost
18) driving, searing, fem vocs
19) pogo’ish punk feel, fem vocs
20) slower instrumental
21) upbeat driving, searing fem vocs
22) driving
23) computer voice followed by 45 secs of silence, then hidden track
