Dark-weird-rock supergroup featuring Duane Denison (Jesus Lizard), John Stanier (Helmet), Kevin Rutmanis (Melvins, Cows), and the almighty Mike Patton (everything else). They play like the lunkheaded cousins of Cop Shoot Cop – bassy, vocal-driven songs all full of threat and melodrama – less smart than ¢$¢, but scarier, cos while Tod A. of Cop Shoot Cop’s clever words might hurt you, Mike Patton could actually break your bones. I think probably.

1. spacy, stringy, creepy
2. nice choppy guitar, muttering vox, metallic percussion, kicks into something way more standard-issue rock than I’ve ever heard from any of these chaps
3. * buzzsaw guitar, odd wah-wah bits, “we know how cheap our freedom is”
(hidden between 3 and 4) reverb, clanky noises, quiet bass noodling – rhythm section jam session?
4. * trebly guitar tremors and some wee-ohhs, fuzzzzzed vox, some “fuckin’”s
5. * bassy lurch
6. sparse and trembling -> thick and thumping -> back to space
7. processional slowdance like the start of Mr. Bungle’s “Merry-Go-Byebye,” en Français
8. disjointed lopsided rage
9. space lounge with mean bass
10. ends in noise w/odd voices over – “John Lennon, Stevie Nicks…”
11. sorta faux-oriental guitar and drums w/robot voice reciting “the rules for hand-to-hand combat”
