Well, I decided after to review this after it was mistakenly diverted from the “feel-good oldies” radio station to KZSU. Maybe it’s not that bad…some of the songs are fun and catchy…though all are pronouncedly late 60’s-70’s pop. This is a reissue of The Last’s first album—but with bonus tracks! Hailing from LA and, apparently, from the Beach Boys surf scene. Try: 1, 6, 9, 10, 12
1) Well, its pop. Simple guitar, pop vocals, snare drum, bass—surf-ish? 2) Hmm…the girl who reviewed and hated Spaceboy, but who kept talking about Weezer ought to love this one 3)”punkier”-pop 4) “I am clean and tidy”—I’m going to start cutting now 5) saunters along to a psuedo-pink-lite tune—*growl* 6) This one is actually kinda cool—like a diet sex-pistols…well, sorta 7) Yeah Beach Boys! 8) Oh GOD!!! I am cutting now! 9) slower, hokey piano, bass, snare, lite surf guitar 10) almost a pop imitation of The Who—cooler guitar and “grittier” vocals 11) this is really derivative old la-la fun-oldies music 12) Yeah, garage-guitar-punk-*pop* 13) Cover of Be-Bob-A-Lula…I suppose it is better than the original… 14) groovy 15) What do you do to the reprise of the song that made you start cutting?
