ETHNIC-TECHNO FUSION
Most bands that attempt to fuse "ethnic" chants and influences with synthetics sound pathetically cheesy and deserve to end up in your favorite record store's "New age" section. This one is unfortunately no exception (a couple songs do manage to stand out, though).
His sound is way overproduced, emotion is absent...
Tintin Love Meter: 3/10
Tintin Recommends (if you can bear this): #6, 11
01 - 06:31 - Mid-tempo, synth strings soft ethnic drums, ethnic chant samples
02 - 05:50 - Mid-tempo, "Jeux sans frontiere", remake of PG's song, french female & english male singers. The female singing is pretty but the music is inconclusive.
03 - 05:56 - mid-tempo to fast, synth bass, drums, ethnic chants
04 - 05:11 - mid-tempo, rock beat, jazzy piano, synth, chinese strings, synth bass, this one manages to be almost acceptable.
05 - 07:28 - slow, soft ethnic drums, synth strings, atmospheric
06 - 05:38 - mid-tempo techno beat, african melody and chants, funky guitar, upbeat
07 - 04:51 - Slow, atmospheric synths over repetitive melody, percussions slowly build up
08 - 04:45 - Slow techno beat, jazzy trumpet and ethnic chants
09 - 06:47 - Starts slow to evolves into expected mid-to-fast ethnic "sauce", Jazzy trumpet, piano, accoustic and distorted guitar, synth bass later
10 - 06:21 - Hip-hop beat, synth strings and bass, ethnic chants
11 - 05:44 - Fast, Funky techno start, ethnic beat chimes in, builds up, funky guitar, almost good until cheesy chants are introduced, Funky Brass and accoustic bass. Such a shame, This dude should really stay away from ethnic chants, his music has potential...
