Oh so very ex-perry-mental. Put a mic in the utility closet.
disk 1 "studio" (kind of a misnomer, mostly "live at home")
*1.Buzz/whoosh, good short track.
2.pings through a tube louden, distant traffic sounds, rumbles, backwards noises, slowed down distorted speech drones together for half an hour. reminds me of my youth misspent attending amateur industrial music shows in darkened halls.
3.dragging a chain around
*4.film projector has a nice beat. like quick sex
5.refrigerator beat isn't so sexy
6.wet drain, too quiet. best mixed w/7 other sounds.
7.interesting concept but still too quiet.
8.see #7
9.loud enough but still best mixed with something else
*10.sounds like clucking. sparse
*11.pretty cool high pitched metallic throbbing clicks
12.too much concept, quiet, too much like radio hiss for air
13.like #12 but too little concept
14.Chris Koenigsberg does this kind of stuff better
*15.Good crisp unprocessed clicks, and a wobbly reel
disc 2 "live" in front of an audience
1.silence, dead air, might as well play nothing.
2.rain, boops, digital noise, hum, tones evolve very slowly
3.Sounds like people milling around at a gallery recorded at floor level, which isn't so far off from the truth.
4.decent hum and crackle.
More entertaining reviews in the booklet
