The classic British free trio recorded in an awesome little club just outside Paris. Free-jazz ideas applied in an abstract, all-improvised, all-acoustic setting, with occasional noise/squawk effects. These guys have played together for about a zillion years, and they make a great cohesive unit.
Fun story about tracks 4 and 5 ... They're part of a single piece, but the computer that was recording them crashed, splitting the performance in two. Like the Beatles' tape glitch on "I Want You," it came out sounding pretty cool.
1*- Staggery, jazzy. A bright and musical sound sometimes peppered with Parkers tight curly-cue noises.
2- Quietly crunchy improv featuring Parker's circular breathing on soprano
3- A lengthy improv. From 0:00 to +10:00 is a nice excerpt, starting quiet, getting stormy, ending with a "light industrial" bass solo. Hits a peak at around the halfway point, followed by a noisily quiet stretch.
4*- Fast and crashing
5*- Starts quiet, gets explosive
