Solo piano, a pleasant mix of jazz and modern-classical idioms. Sandell plays fast, tangly forms but without the aggression of Cecil Taylor, for a more lighthearted feel. Doesn't have the formality of "chamber jazz" or sternness of avant-garde classical; it's more a pleasant trickling of ideas.
2- Dark and stern; fast, burbly playing
3- Has a nice aggressive patch in the middle
5- Long piece with lots of variety (tapping on the piano at the start, e.g.) and some nice jazzy figures in the second half
6- EXTREMELY quiet, lots of long silences. Picks up in the last minutes.
7- Delicate
8- Cool fast prepared piano
