This is a decent acid-jazz/downtempo compilation that features productions by artists supposedly from Nordic regions. If you like the whole jazzanova/urban-lounge sound, there’s some nice stuff here for you. The one big problem I have with this CD is that the title is misleading – there is nothing here that is specifically “Nordic”. This is a straight up nu-jazz/electronica CD that could’ve been produced anywhere in Europe or America. Try: 1,

1. Funky-ass bass groove, twinkly vibraphones, some strings, snappy acid-jazz
2. Trip-hop track w/ sample of “Blue on Blue”, nothing special here
3. Breathy female vocal dah-dah loop over some jazz drum kit & electronics
4. Really chill piano w/ some jazz drumming – very very mellow
5. Lush synths, pretty piano loop, snappy jazz breakbeats – nice but a bit too smooth
6. Jazz-pop – w/ some pretty polished female vocals
7. Ethereal female vocals over nice bass groove & some spacey synths
8. R&B-ish soulful vocals w/ claps, goes into deep-house-y breaks
9. Nice sax – scratchy recording, groovy standup bass, chill
10. Female vocal with pumpy deep house beat, neat organ & bass loop
11. This track is old but a nice groove – acid-jazz bassline & funky guitar – dig it
