Von's a great old guy who plays old standards but packs his sax solos with out-there licks. He loves to toss fast, angular runs in the middle of otherwise normal-sounding passages, even on the slow tracks. Overall it's a conservative sound with doses of Coltrane-kindled fire here and there.

- Unaccompanied sax with some nice off-kilter runs.
* - Midtempo upbeat stepper.
* - Starts mellow, gets into a fast fast clip
- Slow and romantic
* - Corny longe sound, mellow jazz guitar ... but some nice crazy/burbling sax soloing going on
- Slow blues
- Gentle, slow, happy, sentimental
