Classic "soul-jazz" album from 1976, never officially released. Awesome stuff -- two long tracks that get a nice groove going and stack some free-jazz solos on top (Woody Shaw on trumpet! Azar Lawrence on sax!) and some poetry. Celebratory, psychedelic, grooving, free.
Recorded on Jan. 15 as a tribute to Martin Luther King.
1- Coolly funky intro. Nice sax and trumpet solos early on, and occasional blasts of mystic/beat poetry exclamations. Warm, grooving, comforting.
2- Faster piano groove, bright energetic sax solo early on. Some high-energy poetry as well. Awesome!
