Album Review
Red West
Reviewed 2002-08-11
minimal noodling of unidentifiable objects. Ambient. For the patient. Disc1-
1.high pitched reverb noises with some low pitched muted string crackling, other unobtrousive noises come in.
2. low drone, the whole thing has a low drone like being in a ship, some wet metallic processed blips appear
3. louder pulsing drone, rhythmic equipment. Even progression.
4.like backwards breathing. background noise changes slightly.
5.little noises like marbles banging against eachother, some hollow percussion like pipes being hit on their ends, all over a shimmer
6.crackling, things getting dragged around, diminishing drone, #1 noises, chaos
arrangements on disc2 are more foreground than on disc1, good for goths-
1.epic piece, small motor rests on guitar strings, goes thru echo box, drones build dissonance
2.deep drone pulses, high pitched comptery sound throughout.
3.slow fade in from silence, to the wind's moans
4.more motor noises & mid-high reverb/synth moans
5.silent start, processed orchestral stuff, sounds faux to my ears
6.silent start, sad music made by droning accordian & organ-like synth
