Klezmer jazz, sort of .... quartet led by jazzy trumpet and acoustic guitar, doing compositions by Bartok and Satie. The guitar, in particular, spells out the weird harmonies in some of these pieces (see tracks 2 and 5).
Good stuff with jazzy soloing, but it's not as fun as it could be. Track #1 hints and wild fun stuff, but the rest gets more buttoned-down. Still, the trumpet and drums keep up a crisp, loud level of energy throughout.
