Fun bluesy/funky jazz fronted by a gruff male vocalist (Miles Griffith) with a predilection for scat singing. The band delivers a big happy sound overall, and Walrath tosses in some crisp, fast trumpet solos (tracks 1, 8).
Lyrics are goofy but only occasionally funny, as on #6 ("I Want To Be Your Pig"). Also of note:
2- Zappa-like grinding rock
4- Mingus song done in hard, shuffling blues-rock with spoken-word parts. Reminds me of Living Colour.
7- Slow raging blues
