'90s electronica remixes of Steve Reich pieces. Very dancable and booming.

Forgive my snobbery here, but .... the whole point of Reich's work is to investigate counterpoint and interlocking phases of sound. There's usually a delicate interwoven rhythm that permeates the piece.

In that light, to remix Reich with a Boom Boom BAP drum machine just kills the whole point. It's like if NBC aired Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" show, but without Donald Trump, and without any Apprentices, and instead just showed the boardroom with an episode of "Friends" overlaid.

Go listen to the Reich originals or a dance-electronica CD, but don't go mixing the two.
