Palomino

Like Maggie Rogers, this Swedish folk duo composed of sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg forgos its americana roots for a decidedly more upbeat pop sound in their new album. The gloriously beautiful harmonies still dominate but this time they are accompanied by energetic strings, brass and synths; even dabbling a bit with glam rock. Klara, the younger of the two siblings, describes the change as part of growing up: “As we get older, the music is more about having fun and being positive… like a palomino riding through the desert”. Like the beautiful horse, this disk is full of unbridled energy.
