In Goodman's sophomore release, the hollar collides with the frenetic punk scene of 80's era CBGBs. Being the daughter of a Kentucky sharecropper, she is truly a product of the South which she still loves & calls home despite being a progressive lesbian and she uses her music as a bridge between these disparate cultures. Sonically things range from picked acoustic guitars to a full tilt channeling of X. Either way it is the vibrato in her razor sharp soprano vocals that stand out as they harkin back to Hazel Dickens while being as edgy as something from Iggy Pop.
FCC: #7 (disk is clean)
