LOCAL! Lo-fi pop from San Francisco. (I like the description "fog pop" from Glenn Donaldson of The Reds, Pinks & Purples.) Recorded-to-tape sound, simple percussion, washed-out guitar and keyboard textures, enticing half-whispered duetting. Flowertown is the duo of Karina Gill (also in the band Cindy) and Michael Ramos (also in the band Tony Jay). RIYL The Reds, Pinks & Purples (or any other Slumberland Records artists), soft Velvet Underground, early Byrds, Acetone, Galaxie 500. Favorites: 1, 2, 5, 6. No FCCs detected.

1. *(3:20)—Medium-fast, blurry rock with lo-fi shoegaze swirls.
2. *(3:05)—Slow, gentle, drumless waltz. Beautiful, warm, half-awake hypnosis.
3. (2:31)—Slow, with minimal loping drumming, fadeout mid-verse.
4. (2:54)—Mid-tempo, cheery and major-key, with bright humming keyboard.
5. *(3:09)—Slow shaker groove. Smooth, deep, pretty.
6. *(1:50)—Slow start but picks up, nice back-and-forth between Gill and Ramos, quick and perfect.
7. (1:49)—Slow, nocturnal, with haunting textures.
8. (3:04)—Medium-slow, washed-out strumming. Sort of like Grouper?
