“Recoge” B/W “Plato Típico” is the stunning second 7” single by Los Angeles quintet Yanga. Flawless mix of Afro-Latinx rhythms and sounds recorded as if they don’t belong to a specific time or place. One of my favorite recordings of 2022. Something else from the press release: "Yanga makes their long-awaited return to Names You Can Trust with two new scorching originals, further building upon a foundation of Afro-Colombian rhythms like cumbia, garabato and zambapalo.
