Lush composed experimental noise, with old school industrial and dark noise elements, goth even. Gorgeous stuff. Sounds like it was recorded in a bombed out gothic cathedral at times, very organic. RIYL: Einsturzende Nuebauten, SPK, Father Murphy, Current 93, Forever Autumn, NON, Eno. From Thrill Jockey: “Black To Comm is the solo project of German sound artist Marc Richter. Through masterfully manipulating sound he collapses the past, present and future of recorded music into kaleidoscopic pieces that transcend genre, bristling with detail: an intense sensory sonic experience…He points to a quote from early electronic pioneer Eliane Radigue: “everything is an interval, we are always in-between. And in this interval, between two states, there is a continual expression of invisible variations, imperceptible transitions.” (Please see Radigue for the ultimate in long form experimental hypnotic drone).
1) (5:58) a near hallowed Gregorian chanting, dark and goth, after 2 min an intense old school plodding clanging industrial noise, track end blindingly cold 2) (2:38) big dark deep industrial feel with crazed analog synth, noisey 3) (4:50) begins quietly, with sparse pitz (?), heavy reverb, begins to layer upon itself in loops, strange vocalizations, quite bizarre 4) (4:22) quite lovely piano with treatments, chill and pretty but twisted, Eno’esque, ends cold 5) (4:01) lovely drones, heavy and lush, samples at start and end 6) (4:27) heavy melodic droning synth embellished with percussion, etc 7) (2:26) organ feel, dense 8) (1:55) dense breathing layered drones, gorgeous in the Cruenta Voluptas manner of NON, wish it was longer
