Looking for some intricately crafted artsy prog-pop accented with mariachi style trumpet work and a soaring violin – Penultimate is the disk for you. In it Chapell provides 12 original tunes ranging from social commentary, eg ‘Zuk and Sandinista, to just plain fun, eg Girl’. If his catchy tune-smithing, eg channeling Elanor Rigby in ‘Zuk doesn’t put a ear in your worm, the intriguing interplay between his haunting trumpet and Lorenza Ponce’s magnificent violin certainly will.
