Tara Beier, Hero and the Sage Label: self released Reviewed by: Kim Walter, Aug 2018 I saw Tara at a music festival, and I was impressed with her style, her professionalism, and most of all: her voice. She is from Canada. Sometimes her vocals are ethereal, floating above and around the music (#1), sometimes she is more grounded (#2) and for some songs, it is the music itself that takes the dominant role (#8,#9). Overall, nice variety in this album. I feel like Tara is a promising and talented musician we’ll see more of in the future. 3:19 Med - Her vocals float around the psych rock music 3:08 Slow/Med * - More singer/songwriter style with a musical base 3:00 Slow/Med - Her voice/Style is different/political 4:37 Slow * - Nice dreamy tune on freedom island 3:17 Slow->Med * - Starts slow and then peps up 4:03 Slow ** - Title Track, love song? 2:38 Slow - singer/songwriter - message? 3:26 Slow * - Still s/s but a stronger musical feel 3:16 Med ** - Wow.
